We are looking for a motivated and committed Senior Research Associate - In Vivo Hematology for our client, F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd., based in Basel. This is an 18-month assignment with the option to extend.

We are seeking a Research Associate to evaluate novel therapies for non-malignant hematological disorders, particularly hemoglobinopathies. You will join an international team, primarily using cell-culture based in vitro models to characterize anemia treatments. Expertise in cell culture, flow cytometry, and qPCR is essential.

Tasks

  • Support projects with transgenic mouse models (injections, tissue processing)
  • Perform ex vivo assays (flow cytometry, qPCR, Western blot)
  • Work with cell lines, primary cells, tissues, and patient samples
  • Collaborate on experimental design, execution, data interpretation, and assay optimization
  • Contribute to data analysis, documentation, and communication of findings
  • Engage in teamwork, lab maintenance, and foster a positive work environment

Must Haves

  • MSc / BSc in Life Sciences (cellular / molecular biology, pharmacology, immunology, hematology) or Research Associate apprenticeship with approximately 3 years of relevant experience
  • Authorization for animal experimentation (e.g., LTK1, FELASA or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with rodents (e.g., injections / tissue sampling)
  • Experience in cell culture and in vitro molecular assays
  • High motivation, flexibility, and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent data management and record-keeping skills
