Quality Control (QC) Analytical Science and Technology (ASAT) Basel/Kaiseraugst comprises approximately 60 employees, organized in 3 teams and is a central element for the manufacturing of high quality medicines. Key areas of expertise of the QC ASAT group include but are not limited to Lifecycle Management of Specifications & Methods, Center for Analytics in Small Molecules, Method Transfer and Launch as well as Analytical Method Validation & Projects for Small and Large Molecules. Further the Complaints Analysis and Counterfeit Investigations as well as Particles Characterization, Analytical Troubleshooting, Evaluation of new Technologies and Spectroscopic Method Development for the Roche network are within this department.

The Opportunity

The Unit Lead of the ASAT E2E Biologics team will oversee launch, transfer and lifecycle activities associated with analytical testing of biologics and is responsible for timely and compliant execution of those activities.

As a leader, you will encourage your employees in their further development. You are reporting to the Head ASAT and are a member of the QC ASAT Leadership Team and thus directly influence the development of the local analytical organization.

Your Other Main Tasks And Responsibilities Are

  • Lead a team of 15 subject matter experts to achieve strategic, operational, and organizational goals, including talent and performance management.
  • Foster a collaborative, communicative, motivated, and inspiring work environment.
  • Ensure timely and GMP-compliant analytics for diverse pharmaceutical materials, adhering to regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Guarantee on-time project completion through efficient analysis and clear communication with QC planning.
  • Maintain strong alignment, communication, and collaboration with internal and external partners, representing the unit in audits and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Following your studies in life-sciences, you have gained professional experience (3+ years) in the pharmaceutical industry in the field of quality control or quality assurance, experience with analytical methods and transfers is desirable
  • You have already first experience in managing staff and leading an organization
  • You have expertise in cGMP, as well as profound knowledge of local and international GMP regulations
  • You take on challenging tasks independently, have the analytical ability to evaluate complex issues and make decisions.
  • You have a professional and results-oriented work style and are focused on continuous improvement
  • As an integrative personality with strong communication skills, you are able to build trusting and effective relationships with a wide range of partners at the Kaiseraugst site and in the global Roche network
  • Your excellent communication skills in fluent German and English enable you to deal with interlocutors at all levels
