• Location: Fully remote
• Estimated Duration: Long-term contract, no guaranteed employment
• Pay Rate Range: $47-49.50/hr (weekly pay)

Project Description:

Plans, conducts, and coordinates the application of state-of-the-art information processing techniques in the analysis, design, and implementation of software systems, technical support, and operating system development. Tasks are complex. May act as team or project leader on major software design and development projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Monitor system performance and identify root causes for issues.
2. Coordinate changes with the MaaS provider and COT employees.
3. Communicate system outages.
4. Attend weekly meetings and participate in the Change Control Board.
5. Develop operational standards and provide technical assistance.
6. Design, implement, and customize mainframe technology solutions.
7. Interact with customers and provide management reports/analysis.
8. Assist in WLM tuning and Sysplex activities.
9. Experience in Storage and Backup.
10. Serve as the main contact between various teams and vendors for system inquiries, upgrades, and maintenance.

Requirements:

• Five years experience in an MVS or z/OS IBM mainframe environment.
• Deep knowledge of mainframe technologies: z/OS, Cobol, Assembler, CICS, IMS, DB2, TSO, ISPF, JES2, JCL, SMP/E, SMF, RMF, BMC Tools, CA Tools, Storage Devices, Websphere, MQSeries, VTAM, RACF, TCPIP, HCD, LPAR, WLM, and other z/OS subsystems.
• Experience with Storage technologies and administration.
• Working knowledge of OMVS and its components.
