Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist in power transmission and distribution. Our unit Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS), based in Zürich-Oerlikon, is active in the development and production of gas insulated switching systems. We ensure the high reliability of our systems by using state-of-the-art development tools and methods.

For our Business Unit High Voltage Products in Zürich-Oerlikon we are looking for a Team Leader for our Customer Quality and Quality Assurance.

In this challenging position you will provide leadership to and develop 8 quality professionals. You will be the first escalation level in case of customer complaints and ensure all quality assurance tasks such as updating the Quality Management System (QMS) and audits are done in accordance with internal and external requirements.

Your responsibilities

  1. Leading a team of 8 quality professionals in Switzerland as well as 2 to 3 resources in our India Operating Center (virtual team lead)
  2. Ensure customer complaints are handled professionally and in a timely manner
  3. Develop knowledge throughout the GIS organization about problem-solving tools and high-quality customer reports, helping to foster a quality culture
  4. Ensure the feedback loop and lessons learned actions from customer cases either to suppliers and sub-suppliers as well as to own production
  5. Identifying and driving improvements projects within the Quality team
  6. Planning and execution of customer, internal, and third-party audits
  7. Ensure the operating unit’s quality management system is maintained and up to date
  8. Ensure timely and correct reporting of quality KPIs and use them to identify high impact projects for the unit
  9. Identify and develop talents and live Hitachi Energy’s leadership pillars

Your background

  1. Bachelor or master's degree in engineering or quality management
  2. 3 years’ experience in leading teams or experienced in a quality function in the power industry and willing to take a team lead
  3. Proven experience in quality management and facing customers
  4. GIS technical know-how and experience in energy technology is an advantage
  5. Fluency in English, German and any other language is a plus
  6. Good communication and organizational skills and experience in intercultural cooperation
  7. Lean 6Sigma green belt or black qualification is considered an advantage
  8. Experience with SAP S4/Hana is an advantage
