CTO at atmo Agri-Fintech (Berlin-based / Hybrid)

Overview

At atmo, we’ve built a core AI product at the intersection of agricultural transition and green finance. As an early-stage company moving from first rollout to long-term scale, we’re now looking for a visionary CTO / Head of Engineering to join our founding team and own our technical future.

Over the past year, we’ve deliberately evolved from a pure data product into an AI-first platform. AI is now central to everything we do — from ingesting messy, real-world agricultural data to unlocking new financing flows for sustainable farming. This role is about taking what exists, sharpening it, and building a durable, scalable technical foundation for the long game.

What you’ll do

• Own and drive atmo’s end-to-end technology strategy
• Lead the evolution of our stack (Python, Django, Google Gemini, AWS)
• Design and optimize AI training pipelines for complex, real-world agricultural datasets
• Integrate modern AI development tools to move faster with smaller, smarter teams
• Build, mentor, and scale a lean, high-impact engineering team

What we’re looking for

• Entrepreneurial mindset — you’re in it for ownership, purpose, and long-term impact
• Strong full-stack experience, with deep backend strength and openness to evolving the frontend
• Hands-on AI expertise, especially in training and deploying models on non-clean, real-world data
• Experience in Fintech and/or Agritech is a strong plus
• Passion for climate, sustainable agriculture, and building things that actually matter
• Strategic thinker who’s comfortable leading in uncertainty
