BACKGROUND ON IMPACT INITIATIVES

IMPACT Initiatives is a humanitarian NGO based in Geneva, Switzerland. The organization manages several initiatives, including:

  1. The REACH Initiative, which facilitates the development of information products to enhance decision-making and planning in emergency, reconstruction, and development contexts.
  2. The PANDA Initiative, supporting aid actors in improving the effectiveness, efficiency, and efficacy of their programmes.
  3. The AGORA Initiative, promoting localized and multi-sectoral aid in support of recovery and stabilization of crisis-affected communities.

The IMPACT team includes specialists in data collection, management, analysis, and GIS. Launched through a partnership with Acted, IMPACT benefits from operational support in the field.

We are currently seeking a Finance Control Officer to join our IMPACT Initiatives team in Geneva.

Contract Duration: Open-ended

Location: Geneva - International Environment House

Starting Date: 15th July 2025

Position Profile

The Finance Control Officer reports to the Head of Finance and is responsible for supporting IMPACT’s project financial follow-up. Key tasks include:

Strategic Planning and Analysis

  • Providing guidance to Regional Finance Managers and Country Representatives on financial decision-making tools.
  • Supporting the development of strategic financial analyses for country programs and regional hubs.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of finance tools and procedures.

Financial Management and Reporting

  • Supporting proposal development and review of budgets.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting principles and local regulations.
  • Monitoring expenses and ensuring proper allocation of costs in line with donor requirements.
  • Maintaining up-to-date budget follow-up and financial reporting.
  • Supporting audit processes and project-specific financial management.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, Administration, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in a similar finance role.
  • Experience in finance control, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently and under pressure.
  • Interest in humanitarian work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Desired

  • Experience or interest in the non-profit sector.
  • Experience with project-oriented organizations.
  • Knowledge of SAGE accounting software.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Gross salary ranging from 5,000 to 5,167 CHF monthly, including a contribution to medical insurance.
  • Insurance coverage for accidents, health, life, and repatriation.
  • Up to 40% remote work weekly.
