Jobbeschreibung

Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks an enthusiastic hands‑on Software Engineering manager to join our Digital Marketing Technology team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the broader Digital, Data, Marketing, and Revenue Management teams to continue making Hyatt a leading hospitality company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write high quality, maintainable code (React, TypeScript/Node.js) and serverless services (AWS Lambda, API Gateway).
  • Design and review object models and schemas for DynamoDB, DocumentDB and OpenSearch.
  • Own service reliability: SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, observability, performance profiling, capacity and cost management.
  • Lead a cohort of contract engineers: define SOWs, acceptance criteria, deliverable quality gates; run code reviews and architectural checkpoints.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop engineers; cultivate a healthy team culture grounded in inclusion, feedback, and craftsmanship.
  • Collaborate with Product, Data Science/ML Ops, Platform, and Security to design composable services and frontends that integrate across teams.
  • Define event‑driven interfaces (SNS/SQS/EventBridge), API contracts, and shared libraries to enable cohesive large‑scale systems.
  • Partner with Data Science to operationalize models: feature pipelines, online/offline inference, model versioning, A/B testing, guardrails.
  • Lead data curation for content and recommendation inputs: taxonomy, enrichment, governance, and feedback loops.
  • Champion responsible AI: bias checks, explainability, and privacy/security controls for guest data.
  • Define and enforce coding standards (ESLint, Prettier, TypeScript strict mode, secure defaults), testing strategy, and PR/branching conventions.
  • Establish agile standards for story hygiene, DoR/DoD, estimation, sprint reviews, releases, and DORA metrics; drive continuous improvement via metrics and retros.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines with automated build, test, security scans (SAST/DAST/dep checks), and progressive delivery.
  • Embed security by design (least privilege IAM, KMS, secret management, threat modeling) and ensure compliance with applicable privacy regulations.
  • Own business continuity: define RTO/RPO, disaster recovery strategies (multi‑AZ, multi‑region, backups, restore playbooks), runbooks, on‑call rotations, and incident post‑mortems.
  • Partner with Product on roadmaps, scope, and tradeoffs; turn strategic goals into achievable milestones.
  • Communicate status, risks, dependencies, and outcomes to leadership; manage cross‑team dependencies proactively.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in software engineering with 2–4+ years in technical leadership/management; demonstrated success leading blended contractor/FTE teams.
  • Expert hands‑on skills with React and TypeScript, including performance and accessibility.
  • Strong experience with AWS serverless: Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, EventBridge/SQS; infrastructure as code (CDK/Terraform/CloudFormation).
  • Production experience with NoSQL data modeling on DynamoDB and operationalizing DocumentDB at scale.
  • Proven track record establishing coding standards, quality practices, CI/CD, and agile rituals; measurable improvements to DORA/quality metrics.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML productization (model serving, feature stores, experimentation) and data curation for personalization.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and vendor/contractor oversight skills.
  • Experience in hospitality/e‑commerce personalization or content recommendation systems.
  • Knowledge of observability stacks (CloudWatch, DataDog) and cost‑aware architecture.
  • AWS certifications (Developer/Architect/DevOps) or equivalent practical expertise.
  • Security/privacy experience for customer/guest data (PII), including secure coding and compliance practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

Benefits

  • Annual allotment of free hotel stays at Hyatt hotels globally.
  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Well‑being initiatives such as a complimentary Headspace subscription and a discount at the on‑site fitness center.
  • A global family assistance policy with paid time off following the birth or adoption of a child and financial assistance for adoption.
  • Paid Time Off, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) with company match.
  • Competitive salary range: $135,000 to $180,000, plus incentive awards and an annual bonus.

We welcome you to apply. We’d love to consider your unique experiences and how you could make Hyatt even better.
