The Role: CIO & Fractional Co‑General Partner
This is not a conventional employment role. It is a co‑founding, fund‑building opportunity for a senior investment professional who wants to:
- Shape the investment DNA of a new impact fund
- Accelerate fundraising and deal execution
- Trade short‑term certainty for long‑term upside, impact, and legacy
Engagement model: Fractional (~75%), output‑based
Initial horizon: 12–24 months, with a pathway to full GP role
Key Responsibilities
- Investment Leadership – lead and co‑lead the full investment cycle: sourcing, due diligence, IC decisions, structuring, and exits; act as CIO, ensuring disciplined yet flexible investment governance; build a differentiated portfolio aligned with IHV2’s impact thesis.
- Portfolio Value Creation – work hands‑on with portfolio companies at board and management level; support scaling, governance, follow‑on capital, and strategic partnerships; integrate impact and financial performance as mutually reinforcing levers.
- Fundraising & LP Engagement – secure an anchor investor and subsequent LPs; engage institutional investors, family offices, and impact‑aligned asset owners; serve as a credible fundraising counterpart alongside the Managing GP.
- Fund & GP Platform Building – shape IC processes, governance, and internal investment policies; build a high‑trust GP partnership grounded in ethics, transparency, and shared values; contribute to the formation of an Advisory Board (5–7 senior leaders).
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
- 8–15+ years in VC, growth equity, private equity, or operator‑investor roles.
- Proven track record in leading investments and supporting portfolio companies.
- Board‑level experience strongly preferred.
Fundraising & Networks
- Ability to open doors with sophisticated LPs (institutional or private).
- Complementary network to the founding GP, especially in EMEs.
Mindset & Values
- Genuinely impact‑first, not impact‑as‑marketing.
- Comfortable operating in complexity and resource‑constrained environments.
- Long‑term oriented, ethically grounded, stewardship‑driven.
- Motivated by co‑creation rather than hierarchy.
Compensation & Incentives (Early‑Stage, Impact‑Aligned)
IHV2 is transparent that this is not a traditional VC pay structure. Indicative package:
- Cash compensation: USD 200k–250k p.a. (fractional ~75%), starting post‑first close.
- Carried interest: up to 60% of GP carry, vesting over time.
- Placement / fundraising incentive: 2–4% of capital sourced.
- Clear pathway to full GP role as the fund scales.
The founding GP has intentionally capped their own cash compensation to reinforce alignment with LPs and long‑term fund performance.
