Chief of Staff

At Adaptyv, our high-throughput cloud lab enables protein designers to experimentally validate their proteins with the click of a button. We're building advanced molecular biology workflows, assay automation and software infrastructure to make it easy for our users to engineer better proteins. Since the launch of our beta access in June 2024 we've been growing rapidly and are now working with the fastest-moving protein design teams in the world, across tech bio startups, major AI companies and the biggest pharmas.

Overview

We are looking for a Chief of Staff to help us scale operations, drive new products and initiatives and ensure strategic alignment across the company. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth startup, can juggle multiple priorities, and is relentless about getting things done.

Responsibilities

• Drive execution across key company initiatives, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and on time.
• Own cross-functional coordination between R&D, commercial, and operations teams to keep everything running smoothly.
• Build and optimize processes that improve operational efficiency and help the team move faster.
• Work with founders on fundraising, financial modeling, budgeting, and KPI tracking to support data-driven decision-making.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop talent, helping scale the team with top performers.
• Leverage software engineering skills to automate workflows, improve tooling, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Get your hands dirty, solve problems, and make things happen, whether it’s jumping into a project, fixing an operational bottleneck, or removing roadblocks.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or MBA in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in startups, consulting, operations, finance, or strategy.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with experience in budgeting and forecasting.
• Proficiency in Python or other programming languages for automation and data analysis.
• Track record of execution, with the ability to work hard, move fast, and deliver results on time.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with experience working across technical and business teams.
• Familiarity with bioengineering, synthetic biology, or a strong interest in biology is a plus.
• Self-starter mentality, thrives in ambiguity, and loves solving hard problems in a dynamic environment.
