What we do & who we are

At the Fondue Villa & Garden, we provide an authentic and fun fondue experience. Established in summer 2022, we quickly became the top fondue restaurant in the Interlaken area, receiving many five-star reviews on Google, Tripadvisor, and HappyCow. We achieve this by offering a unique experience.

Our offerings include seven different side dishes (included in the price), fondue made from local Alp cheese, various flavors (e.g., pesto, garlic), double & triple caquelons for tasting multiple flavors, vegan almond fondue, chocolate fondue, ice cream fondue, and personalized storytelling with a history lesson about fondue as Switzerland’s national dish. We also feature garden games and fondue-themed entertainment. As an ‘Erlebnis Restaurant’ with a twist, we create an engaging, fun, but demanding environment during peak times.

This summer, we are adding fondue cooking classes, a fondue picnic backpack, sledding, fondue nights, and outdoor activities starting and ending at our fondue villa.

Our mission is to create an enjoyable, memorable dining experience through outstanding hospitality, storytelling, and celebrating the Swiss fondue tradition. We aim to foster a welcoming space where friends, family, and travelers can gather and enjoy cheesy activities and delicious fondue.

Fondue Villa & Garden

Located in a historic 1901 Swiss villa that also hosts the Adventure Hostel, our venue is lively and fun. In summer, our garden becomes the perfect setting for fondue and games. We love the traveler vibe and often share travel tips and secret scenic spots with our guests, acting as impromptu tour guides.

Tasks

We seek team members for Service roles or a combination of both.

Service responsibilities include:

  • Hosting and serving guests, engaging in friendly conversation.
  • Explaining the history of Swiss fondue.
  • Presenting the menu, answering questions about ingredients, portions, allergies, and offering recommendations.
  • Setting up tables with plates, fondue forks, and glasses.
  • Performing various front-of-house duties, including outdoor service when weather permits.
  • Assisting with cleaning at the end of shifts.
  • Maintaining a sanitized and organized environment, including helping with dishes and cleaning fondue pots.

Requirements

  • Passion for cheese!
  • Excellent presentation, attentiveness, and patience.
  • Interpersonal skills to engage and build relationships with guests.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; a hospitality “tiger” is preferred.
  • Ability to perform well during busy times.
  • A friendly attitude with a smile :-D
  • Fluent English; German and other languages are a plus.
  • Availability for at least one year.
  • Working hours from 3 pm to 11/12 pm.
  • Flexible schedule for 4, 5, or 6 days a week.
  • European passport is required.
