Overview

Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Global Demand Planner to join our Specialty Additives business at our Schaffhausen location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Supply Chain function. This position will report to the BU SA Supply Chain Director.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining forecasting models, analyzing and interpreting historical and current data and correcting discrepancies, using Infor/Arkieva planning system and SAP
  • Maintaining close relations with the commercial and customer service organizations and attend sales meetings in the region
  • Lead Demand review meetings as part of Integrated Business Planning process
  • Provide demand requirements for (short and long term) production plans together with the Strategic Business Unit Planning Leads and BU Supply Chain Leads
  • Monitoring key forecasting performance metrics and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-10 years' experience in Demand Forecasting, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Sales, Marketing, Materials Management and/or Operations
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex statistical analyses
  • Experience with forecasting software
  • Strong verbal and writing skills in English, additional languages a plus

Preferred qualifications

  • Master degree or above
  • Institute of Business Forecasting CPF, APICS CSCP or CPIM certification preferred
  • Functional/Technical Skills – Advanced knowledge of supply chain best practices and software applications including Advanced Planning, SAP, Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint
  • Business Knowledge and Acumen - Understands the drivers that impact performance and growth of a business
  • Financial and Statistical Knowledge and Aptitude – Capable of interpreting and analyzing statistical data, information and financial reports
  • Presentation Skills – Skilled in a variety of settings, both formal and informal
