Overview

UrbanMetrix is a disruptive 3D site-analysis and conceptual-design tool for architects, engineers and developers. This tool revolutionizes the way we create buildings in cities by inverting the design-process and starting from environmental resources. Sun, views, noise, and wind are resources of the design process to address sustainable cities.

Profile

• BA/MS degree in architecture with several years of work experience.
• Advanced skills in 3D modeling and experience applying digital technologies in sustainable design processes.
• Good communication skills, comfortable in writing texts and flexible in contributing to urgent needs.
• Knowledge in Rhino and Grasshopper; fluent English. Appreciated: German and Italian; knowledge in ArchiCAD, Revit, Adobe Suite, Environmental Analysis, Sustainable Design, Energy Simulation, Autodesk Forma, Ladybug Tools, and video-making.

Context

We offer the typical unstructured and changing environment of a small, multidisciplinary startup and the possibility to participate in a stimulating project. You will work on several tasks in close contact with architects, engineers, and software developers. Our office is in Comano, near Lugano, and work starts in the second half of 2025.

Role

As a digitally-skilled architect you will assist the CEO in different tasks. You will become an expert user of the tool and help the team develop and test new features. You will produce user onboarding materials and animate webinars and demos for early adopters. You will assist some of the largest and most innovative architecture firms in Switzerland in applying the software on large-scale and high-rise projects. You will contribute to developing plugins that connect UrbanMetrix to common 3D modelers and computational design tools.
