Liom is a Swiss health-tech startup dedicated to revolutionizing personalized health monitoring. Our objective is to develop the first non-invasive glucose monitoring wearable. We plan to launch our wearable as a consumer product in the EU in H1 2027, followed by a medically cleared product in the US. Our team of over 80 staff includes more than 50 PhDs with expertise in entrepreneurship, product development, engineering, and scientific disciplines. We operate from our lab in Pfäffikon SZ, Switzerland.
Your mission
- Develop innovative machine learning methods in collaboration with experts in photonics, electronics, biomedical, and fluidics, driving impactful R&D.
- Lead and mentor a team of machine learning, data, and software engineers, fostering creativity, risk-taking, and excellence.
- Stay ahead of research, translating insights into applications while documenting results thoroughly.
- Build a strong team culture with clear goals, effective delegation, and motivation through recognition and coaching.
- Oversee team operations and budget, proactively address challenges, and foster professional growth and collaboration.
Your profile
- PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Applied Math, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research, Biomedical Informatics, or related publication history.
- Proven leadership experience as a team lead for at least 3 years.
- Hands-on, pragmatic leadership style.
- Minimum 8 years of work experience, preferably in industry with machine learning for high-dimensional data analysis.
- Preferred knowledge and experience in:
- Optimization in high-dimensional contexts.
- Deep learning, including generative models and practical development aspects.
- Identifiability of statistical models.
