LEM Surgical AG is a fast growing and innovation driven MedTech company based in Bern, Switzerland. We are developing the next generation of surgical robotic systems for spine surgery, combining precision mechanics, advanced software, and intuitive surgeon interfaces.

To support our growth and upcoming clinical use, we are looking for a Head of Supply Chain to build and lead robust and scalable processes. This high impact leadership role offers broad ownership and the opportunity to shape systems, teams, and strategy in a dynamic environment.

As Head of Supply Chain, you will establish and expand LEM Surgical’s supply chain capabilities. You will be responsible for Purchasing, Supply, Production and Demand Planning, Inventory Management, Order Management, and Distribution Logistics. You will play a key role in aligning the supply chain strategy with business goals and driving continuous improvement across all functions.

Your Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage the Supply Chain department, including procurement, inventory management, planning, and logistics.
  • Lead both strategic and operational procurement across the full spend portfolio (direct and indirect).
  • Develop and implement purchasing and supplier strategies in line with corporate objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations and R&D Engineering to align material requirements across current orders as well as next generation developments.
  • Manage day-to-day supply chain activities, from component purchasing to outbound logistics to hospitals.
  • Ensure timely and complete inbound deliveries, track documentation, and improve supplier performance through metrics and accountability.
  • Continuously optimize our SCM IT systems and process landscape, ensuring seamless digitization and compliance with medical device regulations.
  • Manage supplier relationships and conduct ongoing market and supplier analysis.
  • Perform procurement controlling, generate KPIs, conduct price and delivery time analyses, and monitor quality indicators.

Your Profile

  • University degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business Administration, or certified advanced training as a Procurement Manager (e.g., dipl. Einkaufsleiter:in), ideally with additional business education.
  • 5 to 10 years of professional experience in supply chain functions within capital goods manufacturing, ideally in the medical device industry.
  • Leadership experience of at least 2 years in managing procurement or supply chain teams.
  • Strategic mindset combined with hands-on expertise in managing end-to-end purchasing processes.
  • Strong IT affinity and a drive to optimize and digitalize procurement through the implementation of relevant tools.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a confident and assertive presence in supplier interactions.
  • Business fluency in both German and English (C1 level); additional languages are a plus.

Why Join LEM?

At LEM, you’ll be part of a passionate, hands-on team that thrives on innovation and collaboration. We combine medical purpose with engineering excellence, and every team member contributes directly to what we build. You’ll find short decision paths, real ownership, and a working culture that values initiative, clarity, and trust.

We offer the opportunity to grow with the company, shape processes from the ground up, and play an active role in bringing a transformative surgical technology to life.
