OpenMarket & Embedded Finance Manager - Country: Spain

New Revenue Streams & Partnerships is seeking an OpenMarket & Embedded Finance Manager based in our Madrid office.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The New Revenue Streams and Partnerships team aims to expand our market reach. We focus on creating and growing new business lines and customer propositions to solve real-world problems, leveraging our products, users, and assets to redefine banking and embrace innovation.

The team adopts a disruptive mindset while maintaining Santander's distribution capability, customer base, and core competencies. We operate with a start-up mentality, integrating banking, agile methodologies, UX/UI design, product development, customer success, technology, and investment expertise. Collaboration across the bank, countries, and global divisions is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy Definition: Develop a clear vision for open market and embedded finance, identifying the right strategies, partnership models, and go-to-market approaches.
  2. Internal Awareness: Establish processes and communication channels to promote understanding and collaboration around open market and embedded finance opportunities.
  3. Business Planning: Create business plans and financial models, set and monitor KPIs, and oversee quarterly reviews to track portfolio evolution. Ensure proper integration of P&L in bank processes.
  4. Product Development: Lead the iterative development and launch of new initiatives.
  5. Partnerships: Build and manage relationships with partner organizations, negotiating agreements and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  6. Networking: Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and industry professionals to leverage knowledge and connections.
  7. Risk Management: Collaborate with control areas to adapt standards and establish governance frameworks for new activities, involving Legal, Risk, Compliance, and other teams.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Engineering. An MBA is a plus.

Experience:

  • At least 10 years in banking, financial products, consumer finance, or new business creation.
  • Experience with embedded banking products within fintech or financial services, including launching and scaling Banking as a Service products.
  • Experience in fintech environments and consumer finance.
  • Knowledge of credit risk management.
  • Familiarity with trends in Banking as a Service.
  • Experience engaging with senior management and presenting to executive and Board audiences.
  • Strong project management skills and familiarity with industry technologies like APIs, cloud, and agile.
