Are you a Business Development professional with a history in the public sector that is looking for a new role in a high growth scaling San Sebastian based team?

At European Tech Recruit we are working alongside a high growth tech startup, helping them to bring on board a Business Development Manager. The team are developing a compute platform for high performance computing with a software utilizing real-time telemetry and intelligent algorithms to optimize performance, power efficiency, and scalability dynamically for HPC and AI workloads.

Responsibilities :

  • Proven success in sourcing and closing six- and seven-figure deals within a designated territory.
  • New Business Development : Identify, target, and bid on new business opportunities at the institutional level (European and / or Spanish).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and public administration clients, fostering long-term partnerships by understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Lead high-level solution presentations, showcasing how company products and services provide superior value over competitors.
  • Oversee and coordinate the offer / bid / proposal process, ensuring efficient preparation of all required documents.
  • Support the contract / grant negotiation and signature phases, ensuring a smooth transition to the technical team post-signing.
  • Actively contribute to all stages of the sales process.
  • Facilitate communication between sales and technical teams, providing updates on product capabilities, success stories, and best practices.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Organize and coordinate technical support for demos, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), evaluations, and training sessions.
  • Gather and relay client feedback to product development and marketing teams.

Qualifications :

  • 10+ years of business development experience, with a proven track record of exceeding sales quotas.
  • At least 2 years of experience in selling engineering technology solutions to public institutions.
  • Strong background in creating winning proposals for government bodies such as Ministries, ESA, EC, CDTI, or private sector clients.
  • Deep knowledge of European and Spanish tendering and contracting processes.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven professional capable of operating with minimal oversight while achieving public sector sales goals.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to engage with executive and leadership levels.
  • Strong ability to foster collaboration across teams, including Development, Marketing, and Product Management, working with globally distributed personnel.
  • Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify and deliver the best solutions for clients.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
