Fiber Optic Installation Technician (Entry Level), ID Capacity Install

AWS Infrastructure Services manages the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure, supporting data centers with servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continuous service for customers. We seek talented individuals to join our diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers, committed to safety, security, and cost-effective capacity expansion.

We are expanding our technician teams within the EMEA regions and have openings for Entry Level Installation Technicians. This role offers an opportunity to work in leading data centers, focusing on the physical deployment of infrastructure, including cabling and rack installation, following standard procedures and collaborating across teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Follow safety and security protocols in data centers
  • Install and test copper and fiber optic cabling
  • Build and troubleshoot network devices
  • Label and barcode equipment
  • Manage inventory of materials
  • Follow escalation procedures and operational standards

Physical requirements

  • Work in confined spaces and at heights, including on ladders
  • Manual handling and lifting of equipment (within regulated weight limits)
  • Work in noisy environments and temperature variations

Minimum qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Age 18 or older
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems
  • STEM or vocational coursework
  • English proficiency B1 or higher
