Analysis Engineer Stress & Fatigue – Structures
As part of Leonardo, Kopter currently develops the AW09, a next generation single-engine helicopter that offers the largest cabin and cargo hold in its category, increased modularity and modern electronic systems. The AW09 delivers latest safety standards as well as more performance and comfort at low operating costs.
Kopter is set to become Leonardo’s Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies, contributing to the development of hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. Kopter’s 320 talented team members are primarily based in Switzerland, near Zurich and in Mollis (Canton of Glarus).
Your responsibilities
We are looking for an outstanding and passionate Analysis Engineer with a strong background in structural stress analysis to join our innovative team.
- Conduct feasibility and concept studies as part of the development of the Kopter products
- Conduct static or fatigue strength analysis for structures as part of the process of obtaining a prototype permit to flight or aircraft type certificate
- Actively participate in definition of material and structural tests
- Prepare analysis reports, technical notes and presentations including interpretation of the analysis and test results
- Ensure that the work is conducted by using appropriate aerospace analysis methodologies and in accordance with the applicable regulatory frameworks (EASA Part-21,J and CS27)
Your qualification & experience
- Degree in Aerospace/Mechanical or Structural Engineering or related discipline
- Understanding of light weight structures design
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience in Aerospace/Aviation
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable regulatory framework (EASA Part-21,J and CS27)
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with high pressure to deliver
- Comfortable with multi-tasking and juggling several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently with limited guidance and self-motivated
- English minimum B2 level (verbal and written)
Essential:
- Comfortable with working from first principles
- Experience and knowledge of
- traditional hand calculation methods
- composite materials and analysis
- FEA using Hyperworks, Hypermesh and Nastran/Optistruct or other packages
- Experience of optimizing light weight structures
