A leading engineering company in Qatar is seeking a motivated Commissioning Engineer to develop and execute commissioning procedures for Oil & Gas projects. The ideal candidate should have a graduate degree in Engineering, along with considerable experience in commissioning and start-up processes. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of completed installations, coordinating with various teams, and managing documentation.

Job Description
  • Developing detailed commissioning and start-up procedures for assigned systems. Producing or assisting in the production of all test and commissioning documentation.
  • Assist the Commissioning Manager in planning development, scheduling, progress tracking and reporting.
  • Undertaking testing and commissioning activities in line with the specified site requirements.
  • Monitoring progress, recording all test results, witnessing final testing and acceptance of equipment and compilation of all documentation for inclusion in respective dossiers.
  • Ensuring the safe testing and commissioning of completed installations to achieve the necessary plant performance in accordance with project program requirements.
  • Coordinating and on‑site/in‑field leadership of a multi‑discipline commissioning team.
  • Interact with Engineering, Construction and Clients Operations team.
  • Manage the completion of walk‑downs and Punch Lists of offered system/sub‑systems.
  • Assist Construction with inspection and Punch Lists of installation and vendor packages.
  • Updating and forwarding the Punch List and other commissioning related data and inputs per system to the CMS Admin/Coordinator.
  • Ensure Technicians work is carried out in a safe and controlled manner in accordance with site procedures and PTW system.
  • Coordination and execution of various testing such as functional test, performance test, acceptance test, etc. as required during the pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up stages.
  • Ensure all documentation and resources are available to perform work scope for the pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up activities.
  • Coordination of Certifying Authority witnessing on site.
  • Provide Operations with technical support throughout start‑up, stabilization and performance testing.
  • Supervise the Commissioning Team in meeting scheduled deadlines and ensuring the technical integrity of work carried out.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and written.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments and staff.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships in positive team spirit with direct supervision and other departments as well.
  • Other duties as may be assigned or requested.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate should be a motivated self-starter with complex problem‑solving ability. Minimum Qualification should be Graduate in Engineering. Formal certification in Project commissioning is desirable. Must be proficient in day‑to‑day computer usage and well versed with regular office applications, drafting, engineering, project management software etc.

Skillset shall include
  • Excellent communication skills and team‑oriented personality
  • Considerable experience in Commissioning and Start‑up of process and utility systems related to Oil & Gas industry.
  • Fluent and expert in reading and interpreting P&ID's, Piping Isometrics and Production Flow Diagrams, etc.
  • Commendable knowledge in commissioning and start‑up of Stationary and Rotating equipments, Gas and Oil pipeline systems.
  • Operations and maintenance of production facilities
  • Report writing and records maintenance; writing of procedures, method statements, etc.
  • Project management skills; cost, time and project scope
  • Permit to Work System, Occupational hazards, standard safety procedures and safe work practices.
  • Millwright, piping, and workshop knowledge
