Job summary

PPOAR in Doha, Qatar, is seeking a Welder to join our team. The successful candidate will weld and fabricate metal components used in construction and industrial projects, with experience in Stick, MIG, TIG, flux core, and oxy-acetylene methods.

The role requires ability to read blueprints, operate various welding equipment, and maintain safety standards in a potentially noisy environment. We offer training and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Welder or similar role (preferred).
• Ability to read technical documents (blueprints/schematics).
• Working knowledge of relative safety standards.
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment (e.g., MIG, TIG).
• Ability to concentrate for long periods of time in a noisy environment.
• Knowledge of relative materials (e.g., stainless steel, aluminum).
• High school diploma; certification from a vocational school is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings to determine the specific welding requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g., cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
• Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces together
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Follow all safety guidelines while operating welding equipment
