Job summary

Avanceon Middle East & South Asia is seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to join our automation team in Doha, Qatar. The role involves leading the design, configuration, integration, and implementation of SCADA solutions, mentoring engineers, and ensuring successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 7-8 years of experience in SCADA engineering, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of SCADA platforms. This is a short-term contractual role, and candidates currently in Qatar with a valid transferable work visa are preferred.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead to join our automation team. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end SCADA system design, implementation, and project execution while mentoring engineers and ensuring successful delivery of complex industrial automation projects.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, configuration, integration, and implementation of SCADA solutions across multiple industries.
• Define and develop User Requirement Specifications (URS) and ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Prepare detailed software and hardware design specifications.
• Lead the development, testing, deployment, and documentation of SCADA applications.
• Develop system validation and testing protocols ensuring compliance and quality standards.
• Oversee procurement and specification of software, hardware, and licenses.
• Prepare scope of supply documents and technical proposals.
• Estimate engineering effort and man-hours for project execution.
• Manage and technically lead SCADA project delivery from start to commissioning.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
• Lead on-site installation, testing, commissioning, and system start-up activities.
• Provide technical guidance and training to operators, engineers, and client teams.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technical team members.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• B.E. in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering from a recognized institute.
• 7–8 years of relevant experience in Automation / SCADA engineering roles.
• Minimum 2–3 years of proven experience in a technical leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong hands‑on experience with SCADA platforms such as AVEVA System Platform, FactoryTalk, WinCC, or equivalent systems.
• Solid understanding of Windows Server environments, SQL databases, and industrial networking.
• Experience in supervising field installations including cabling, containment, and instrumentation is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to engage clients and stakeholders effectively.
• Candidates currently available in Qatar with a valid transferable work visa will be preferred.
