In commercial law and regulatory at PwC you will advise on regulatory and public policy relating to PwC's commercial activities; responding to inquiries or investigations launched by regulators; understanding the legal impact on the business of regulatory directives and orders; preparing commercial partners and staff for public enquiries and hearings.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced fully qualified lawyer to join our dynamic legal team in Doha. The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified lawyer with 46 years of postqualification experience (PQE) with a strong background in corporate commercial and regulatory matters. This role will involve supporting senior team members in advising clients across a range of sectors handling complex legal workstreams and contributing to high-profile transactions and regulatory projects.

The role requires a commercial detail-oriented lawyer who is capable of managing workstreams independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing practical legal advice that aligns with client objectives and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities :

Corporate & Commercial Legal Work

Draft review and negotiate a broad spectrum of commercial contracts and corporate agreements including :

  • Shareholder and joint venture agreements
  • Share and asset purchase agreements
  • Service supply franchise distribution and agency agreements
  • NDAs MoUs and other general commercial contracts

Support mergers and acquisitions corporate reorganizations and restructurings by managing due diligence processes reviewing transaction documentation and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Advise on company incorporation licensing corporate secretarial matters and other lifecycle management aspects for legal entities.

Regulatory Advisory and Compliance

Advise clients on regulatory frameworks including compliance with :

  • Company laws
  • Antitrust and competition regulations
  • Antibribery and (ABC)
  • Sanctions and foreign investment laws
  • Environmental social and governance (ESG) regulations

Support regulatory filings and licensing processes including liaising with regulators and preparing supporting documentation.

Assist clients with implementation of compliance programs policies and training.

Project Management and Delivery

Take ownership of assigned matters ensuring timely delivery and high-quality service.

Support senior lawyers in large-scale regulatory reform and legal transformation projects for public and private sector clients.

Conduct legal research and provide practical analysis to support client deliverables.

Participate in internal and external client meetings contributing legal insights and drafting summaries and reports.

Client Relationship Management

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients.

Work collaboratively to understand client needs and tailor legal advice accordingly.

Contribute to proposals client pitches and knowledge sharing initiatives.

Candidate Requirements
Education & Qualifications

Law degree from a reputable university.

Fully qualified lawyer with a valid practicing certificate from a recognized jurisdiction.

46 years postqualification experience (PQE) in corporate commercial and/or regulatory practice.

Experience

Prior experience in a leading law firm or reputable in-house legal department.

Proven track record of working on crossborder M&A, joint ventures and commercial projects.

Exposure to regulatory reform or sector-specific regulatory compliance projects is a strong advantage.

Experience working in or advising on matters in the GCC region is preferred.
