Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Qatar is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee design and verification of high-voltage substations. Responsibilities include reviewing technical specifications, conducting design reviews, and coordinating with multiple engineering teams. The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in HV substation projects. Strong knowledge of IEC standards and proven expertise in GIS systems is essential.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify design documents, technical specifications, and drawings of GIS/AIS substations (132–400 kV).
• Conduct design reviews for GIS, transformers, CT/VTs, reactors, busbars, AC/DC systems.
• Participate in FAT/SAT and provide technical support during execution and commissioning.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, cable, and protection teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in HV substation projects.
• Strong knowledge of IEC 62271 and related standards.
• Proven GIS/Power Transformer/NER/AC/DC auxiliaries system /substation earthing system/OLTC expertise.
• Sensitivity/HV PD Test knowledge and standards requirements.
