Job Description Summary

In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for the Engineering & Field Services of the Substation Automation Systems including DCS and RTU. He will closely coordinate his activities with DCS Engineering & Field Service team Project management Application and After Sales. This position will report to GA Gulf Cluster Engineering & Field Services leader.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the Field Services activity of the Substation Automation Systems including DCS / SCS RTU and Cyber security.
• Understanding the project technical requirements Customer Standards and specification and proposing the solution to customer as per the project scope.
• Take the complete ownership of technical activities for assigned projects (Site Survey Engineering Design Follow Up, Support Panels Integration, PreFAT Internal Validation, FAT with customer, Supervise Site installations, Conduct Site Testing and commissioning, Site Red markup, and As Built Drawings, system troubleshooting and rectification).
• Perform coordinate and record Site testing for Signal testing controls measurement interlocks, IEC61850 IEDs and SCADA signals.
• Perform coordinate and record Site testing for DCS / SCS complex functionalities.
• Lead the design of the Substation LAN networks configuration of industrial computers, ethernet switches, Firewall routers and satellite clocks according to project design.
• Knowledge of the schemes application and SCS Database configuration of IEDs (BCUs, BCPU, RTU, IEC61850 Protection relays, AVR, Tariff meter, etc.) in electrical networks including HV & EHV systems and state‑of‑the‑art technologies in substation automation.
• Support Operations team to execute projects efficiently in terms of budgeted profitability planning and general reporting (internal / external).
• Demonstrate EHS compliance and ensure Zero Deviation Plan is implemented within the team and set the example by demonstrating the proper acts and actively observing work conditions and behaviors, giving constructive feedback and celebrating EHS effectiveness.
• Effectively communicate directly with customers to ensure excellent customer service and to build and maintain customer intimacy.
• Works with application team to address any product issues and provide the solution to the customer.
• Raise Change request for any such requirements which are not as per the project specification.
• Project planning to ensure timely achievement of project milestones as per project schedule.
• Support factory during Panels Integration and FAT and clarify / close any raised comments / snags during FAT.
• Follow the department's standard design process and contribute to continuously improving it.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 6 years minimum relevant experience in substation automation system projects (IEC61850 RTU, Cyber security, as well as site experience in DCS / SCS systems of electrical power substations).
• Experienced in GE DS Agile PACiS GPG G500 and D2xx RTUs solutions.
• Practical experience in DCS / SCS Engineering product selections, System architecture, System Database Creation and Configuration, System Validation, FAT site installations supervision, Site testing and commissioning, as well as system troubleshooting and rectification.
• Knowledge of Sequencing & interlocking principles used in substation automation systems and their implementation on IEC61850 IEDs.
• Good knowledge of communication protocols such as IEC 61850, MODBUS, IEC101 / 104, T103 & SNTP and communication network PRP / HSR / RSTP.
• Knowledge of Cyber security solutions implementation in the field of Substation Automation.
• Experience with Utilities and Industrial customer across Middle East, preferably with Kahramaa, Qatar Energy, QCompanies approvals shall add advantage.
• Excellent in MSOffice package (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
• Ability and willingness to travel across the region 25 without limitation.
• Good oral / written communication skills in English and / or Arabic.
