Job summary

Nord Anglia Education is seeking a dedicated Student Support Specialist for Etqan Global Academy in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on targeted interventions for MTSS-identified students and delivering ESL instruction to multilingual learners.

You will collaborate with teachers to implement differentiated instruction, monitor progress with diverse data, and help develop Student Support Plans in partnership with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• Teaching qualification/licensure recognized by the school.
• Experience supporting diverse learners in inclusive settings.
• Experience delivering literacy and/or mathematics interventions.
• Experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL/EAL) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of MTSS/RTI, UDL, and inclusive educational practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted academic intervention to MTSS-identified students.
• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 instruction in literacy and math in small groups or individually.
• Plan and deliver ESL instruction for multilingual learners.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate instruction and accommodations.
• Monitor student progress using multiple data sources (MAP Growth, assessments).
• Develop, implement, and review Student Support Plans with teachers and families.
• Participate in Student Support Team meetings and case reviews.

Etqan Global Academy (EGA) is a newly established IB World School in Doha, Qatar, offering the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). We are looking for an experienced Student Support Specialist to join our team, delivering targeted academic intervention to students identified through the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and providing ESL instruction for identified multilingual learners.

The Role

We seek an individual to join as Student Support Specialist where your focus will be:

• Delivering targeted academic intervention to students identified through the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
• Providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention through small-group and individualized instruction in literacy and mathematics
• Planning and delivering English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction for identified multilingual learners
• Collaborating with classroom teachers to plan, implement, and monitor differentiated instructional strategies and accommodations
• Monitoring student progress using multiple data sources, including MAP Growth and classroom assessments
• Developing, implementing, and reviewing Student Support Plans (SSPs) in collaboration with teachers and families
• Participating in Student Support Team meetings, case reviews, and collaborative planning sessions
• Communicating effectively with teachers, parents, and school leadership regarding student progress and support strategies

The Successful Candidate Will Possess

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Teaching qualification/license recognized by the school
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs in an inclusive school setting
• Experience delivering literacy and/or mathematics intervention
• Experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL/EAL) is highly desirable
• Knowledge of MTSS/RTI, differentiated instruction, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and inclusive educational practices
• Experience using student assessment data to inform instruction and monitor progress
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
