Job summary

COOEC is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Qatar to lead offshore structural design activities, coordinate disciplines, and support project execution from clarification through construction.

You will review and prepare structural documents, ensure adherence to international offshore standards, and train designers regularly. This role requires strong English communication and extensive experience in offshore platforms and related structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or above in a relevant field.
• >10 years offshore engineering structural design experience.
• Familiar with international offshore standards (API RP-2A, AISC, ISO 19902, Shell DEP).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for project communication and discipline coordination.
• Participate in technical clarifications and prepare discipline proposals.
• Design, review and approve Structure documents and close owner opinions.
• Coordinate, track, and resolve issues in Structure technical documents.
• Prepare or review documents for material bidding, bid evaluation, vendor drawings, FAT and procurement support.
• Prepare or review special reports and review calculation results.
• Site coordination, scheme discussion and technical support during construction.
• Provide technical training to designers (≥10 times or 40 hours/year).
• Complete other work assigned by Project Manager and Structure department.

Job description

As Structural senior engineer, be Responsible for project communication, discipline coordination, scheme discussion and formulation, etc.

• Work scope and technical requirements identification.
• Take part in the technical clarification and prepare discipline proposals.
• Design, review and approval of Structure professional documents, and closure of owner opinions.
• Responsible for coordinating, tracking, implementing and dealing with all kinds of problems in the Structure technical documents.
• Responsible for preparing and review of technical documents for material bidding of Structure discipline, clarification of bid evaluation, vendor drawings review, FAT inspection and other procurement technical support work.
• Responsible for the preparation or review of special reports, as well as the review of various calculation results.
• Responsible for site coordination, scheme discussion and other technical support during project construction.
• Provide technical training and guidance to designers on a regular basis, with no less than 10 times or 40 hours of training per year.
• Complete other work assigned by Project Manager and Structure department.

Education/Experience Requirements/ Certification

• Bachelor degree or above;
• More than 10 years of experience in offshore engineering (offshore platform, FPSO and semi-submersible platform, etc.) structural design;
• Major in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering or structural engineering;
• Familiar with the international standards for offshore structural engineering (API RP-2A, AISC, ISO 19902, Shell DEP etc.).

Behavioral/Technical Skills

• Fluent in spoken and written English;
• Special requirement for Structural engineer: (1)Familiar with structural engineering works of offshore oil platform; (2)Using SACS, ANSYS, AutoCAD softwares to perform structural engineering works;
• Special requirement for Geotechnical and Foundation engineer: (1)Familiar with Geotechnical and Foundation engineering works of offshore oil platform;(2) Using Grlweap, SACS, AutoCAD softwares to perform Geotechnical and Foundation engineering works.

Employment Type

The employement type for this position is third-party staffing. The employees shall enter into an employment contract via HR agency and provide services to COOEC.
