Job description

Manages the development and implementation of annual business plans, collaborate with Business Development and Operations & Services to refine value propositions, analyze market and regulatory landscapes, conduct financial analyses, and communicate the strategy to internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and competitiveness.

Key Accountabilities
Corporate Strategy Development
  • Identify and capitalize on strategic opportunities, incorporating them into medium- and long-term strategies and annual business plans to sustain competitive advantage and market relevance.
  • Manage the creation of comprehensive annual business plans that align with the overarching corporate strategy, ensuring cohesive collaboration and integration across all departments.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to refine and enhance MCQ's value proposition for attracting target tenants, providing strategic input on tenant-specific propositions and incentives.
  • Analyze the regulatory and policy landscape from a business perspective and propose changes to enhance MCQ’s attractiveness and competitiveness.
  • Contribute to the implementation of strategic initiatives by providing guidance and clarifications as needed to ensure successful execution.
  • Collaborate with Operations & Services and external expert advisors to develop MCQ’s real estate masterplan, ensuring it aligns with key strategic objectives.
  • Identify necessary enhancements to non-office space facilities to improve competitiveness, based on best-practices and experts’ input.
  • Lead efforts to incorporate digital tools and platforms into the strategic planning process, enhancing data analysis and decision-making capabilities.
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements and assess their potential impact on MCQ’s strategy and operations.
Strategic Analysis & Planning
  • Conduct comprehensive market and competitor analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop scenario planning and forecasting models to anticipate market shifts and prepare for various future conditions.
  • Facilitate strategic planning workshops and sessions with senior leadership and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in for strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and other documents to communicate the strategy internally and with external stakeholders, in collaboration with the Marketing team.
  • Provide support in developing content for all projects and initiatives led or supported by the Strategy & Excellence department.
  • Develop and propose KPIs and targets related to the strategy at department level, to be further detailed by the PMO and respective departments.
  • Conduct financial and economic impact analyses of the strategy and related initiatives to ensure alignment with business objectives and sustainability.
  • Identify strategic risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure business continuity and resilience.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and update strategic plans accordingly to address emerging threats and opportunities.
Stakeholder Management
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring their input and feedback are integrated into strategic plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure strategic initiatives are well-supported and resources are allocated effectively.
  • Represent MCQ at industry conferences, forums, and meetings to gather insights and promote MCQ’s strategic vision.
Strategic Contribution
  • Ensure effective cascading of the divisional strategy into sectional business plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing strategies.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
  • Manage the preparation and recommend the sectional budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget while ensuring all sectional activities are conducted in line with the approved guidelines.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
  • Manage and ensure effective implementation of policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned sectional activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
Continuous Improvement
  • Lead the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, and processes, considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
Reporting
  • Ensure that all sectional reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet MCQ requirements, policies and quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a similar discipline from a reputable university. MBA preferred.
Minimum Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in similar roles in large companies, of which at least 3 years are in leadership roles.
