Overview

A leading engineering organisation is seeking a Static Equipment Lead to provide technical leadership for mechanical and static equipment across an offshore oil and gas project. This role is responsible for ensuring engineering deliverables meet project specifications, codes, and standards, while providing expert guidance to engineering teams and contractors.

The role requires collaboration across multiple disciplines, including process, structural, mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, pipelines, and HSSE, to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of engineering documentation and designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead static and mechanical equipment engineering activities for offshore and onshore facilities, ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards.
  • Review and approve contractor engineering deliverables for mechanical equipment; provide comments on other discipline deliverables as required.
  • Plan and schedule engineering deliverables to support efficient project execution.
  • Participate in design workshops and ensure recommendations are implemented, including 3D model reviews, lessons learned, value engineering, HAZOP, SIL, and LOPA studies.
  • Monitor contractor progress in delivering mechanical/static equipment documentation.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts across disciplines and ensure technical deviations are properly endorsed.
  • Manage engineering interfaces for mechanical equipment with operations, onshore project teams, and pipeline teams.
  • Provide technical guidance to promote asset reliability, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Support mentoring and development of local engineers in line with organisational programmes.
  • Ensure all activities comply with company safety, health, environment, and quality standards, as well as regulatory and legal requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Mechanical/Static Equipment Engineer in major offshore or onshore Oil & Gas projects.
  • Broad knowledge of engineering execution, including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction, and operations.
  • Experience in brownfield engineering and execution is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical equipment, piping, structural, instrumentation, electrical, and pipeline integration.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary and multicultural teams in offshore environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in report writing, presentations, and technical documentation.
  • Competent in office and technical applications; familiarity with engineering software is an advantage.
