Job Summary

This role supports the Head of Section in managing engineering activities related to the design, development, coordination, implementation, execution, and control of projects, ensuring alignment with the Company’s strategy, commitments, and goals.

The position focuses on providing technical guidance, problem-solving, decision-making, and analysis of the engineering department portfolio using innovative and analytical techniques.

Key Accountabilities
  • Assist the Head of Instrument & Automation in coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities to ensure alignment with Project objectives, EPCC Contract requirements, and Project procedures.
  • Track and report progress of engineering deliverables, highlighting deviations and supporting recovery actions.
  • Ensure timely resolution of technical issues and support implementation of design changes and field technical notes.
  • Review and comment on technical documentation submitted by EPCC Contractor, including datasheets, drawings, specifications, and vendor documents.
  • Support the review and endorsement of project procedures and engineering specifications.
  • Participate in kick-off meetings with subcontractors to align on technical scope, quality expectations, and schedule.
  • Review and support acceptance of fabrication schedules submitted by subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection and expediting activities at vendor and subcontractor facilities.
  • Collaborate with the construction team to ensure proper installation of equipment and systems in accordance with engineering deliverables.
  • Participate in on-site inspections to verify compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure readiness of systems for pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
  • Monitor engineering deliverables against the commissioning-driven project schedule and report deviations.
  • Coordinate with EPCC Contractor and internal teams to ensure timely completion of engineering inputs required for commissioning.
  • Support training and technical readiness of Company teams for commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Coordinate engineering interfaces between internal departments (Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Procurement) and EPCC Contractor.
  • Support the Interface Team in technical review of spare parts, tie-in readiness, and resolution of interface-related issues.
  • Ensure alignment of engineering deliverables with interface milestones and external authority requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and compliance with EPCC Contract requirements.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary reviews such as HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, QRA, and 3D model reviews, and ensure closure of action items.
  • Support identification and tracking of engineering-related risks and contribute to the Project Risk Register.
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with Environmental Impact Assessment, HSE, and quality requirements.
  • Report deviations and support mitigation planning in coordination with the Head of Engineering.
  • Oversee design and configuration of control systems including DCS, SIS, PLCs, and SCADA.
  • Review control philosophies, system architecture, logic diagrams, and interface requirements.
  • Coordinate integration of automation systems with plant operations and safety systems.
  • Support FAT, SAT, and commissioning of automation systems, ensuring cybersecurity and reliability standards are met.
