Job Title: Senior Construction Supervisor - Topside Telecom

Location: Offshore, Qatar

The Opportunity

A leading offshore project requires an experienced Senior Construction Supervisor to manage topside telecom installations. This role involves supervising complex radio, fibre, security, and IP network systems, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and in line with project standards. The position offers exposure to high-value offshore projects and a highly technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise installation and commissioning of telecom systems including:
  • Radio Systems: Microwave links, TETRA, VHF/UHF, VSAT, Marine Radio
  • Security Systems: CCTV, PAGA, PAVA, Access Control
  • Fibre Optics: SDH, PDH, OTN
  • IP Networking: Switches, routers, LAN/WAN, structured cabling, MDF/IDF
  • Telecom Systems: PABX, hotline, field and IP telephones
  • Audio/Video systems and DC power systems (rectifiers, UPS, solar panels, batteries)
• Oversee cable laying, termination, rack installation, antenna alignment, and LOS checks.
• Review method statements, commissioning procedures, redline drawings, as-built documentation, and construction dossiers.
• Inspect work and materials against project plans and Inspection Test Plans.
• Monitor schedule progress, forecast slippages, and propose corrective actions.
• Supervise EPIC contractors and ensure compliance with work permits and project specifications.
• Witness SAT pre-commissioning activities and participate in commissioning.
• Maintain daily records (diaries), track anomalies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Liaise with QC inspectors, HSE officers, and project teams to maintain safety and quality compliance.
• Participate in workshops such as constructability reviews, HAZOPs, SIMOPS, risk assessments, and safety analyses.

Candidate Profile

• Engineering Degree, HND, or Diploma in Electronics, Communication, or IT Engineering from a recognised institution.
• 10-12 years' experience in telecom, radio, fibre optic, and microwave system installation within oil & gas projects.
• Solid understanding of offshore telecom construction and commissioning processes.
• Excellent communication, report writing, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify bottlenecks and suggest practical solutions.
• Proven track record with EPIC contractors on complex offshore projects.
