Job description
Overview

Reporting to the Maintenance Section Supervisor, this position provides hands-on maintenance and repair support to the electronic and electrooptic payloads fitted to military vehicles. The role requires significant experience maintaining various electronic systems in a military environment. Training on the specific systems will be provided.

As a Senior Technician, the position has low-level supervisory responsibilities. The successful candidate will oversee other Technicians, work independently, and may communicate with the End User and lead tasks as directed by the supervisor.

The position is primarily based in a workshop but will require occasional travel to other locations in and around Doha.

Responsibilities
  • Operate from a multi-purpose, large-scale hanger facility.
  • Complete all maintenance and repair activities to standards specified in Company procedures and instructions.
  • Perform fault diagnosis and analysis for reported failures.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory management and conform to local procedures.
  • Complete system-specific training (On the Job and Formal) provided by Barzan Maintenances Shield and its partners.
  • Report faults/issues to the responsible Supervisor.
  • Adhere to local policy and procedure including Health and Safety regulations.
  • Be able to work from other locations within the vicinity of Doha as required (may involve driving to other locations in company vehicles).
  • Work independently at the main hanger and other locations.
  • Assist, as nominated, supervisors with secondary duties.
  • Lead tasks and oversee small teams of Technicians within the section.
  • Advise supervisory staff of areas of concern regarding defects, safety, and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as may be requested by the direct supervisor.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Higher Diploma/Technical-Vocational
  • Formal qualification (minimum Diploma equivalent) in Vehicle repair
  • Vehicle Mechanic systems / Vehicle Electrical systems
Experience Requirements
  • Military Electro-Optic repair, diagnostics and inspection
  • 10 years minimum
  • Supervisory responsibility for Technicians
  • 5 years minimum
Certification / Knowledge / Competencies
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Arabic speaker (desirable)
  • Computer literate
  • Qatar Driving License (or other driving license with ability to gain Qatar driving license)
