Job summary
A construction project management company in Qatar is seeking a Planning Engineer with extensive experience in project planning and programming using Primavera P6. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 12 years' experience in construction project planning, with strong project control and management skills. This role involves developing project control systems and monitoring project progress to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications

- Seven years' experience in planning high quality projects using Primavera P6.
- Chartered Engineer or PE preferred, with demonstrated track record.

- Develop initiation programmes for all development stages
- Develop an overall development project progress control system for all phases
- Develop initiation programmes and detailed plans for all development phases

- Effectively present project plans to stakeholders
- Ensure supplier programmes are compliant and in line with the detailed plan and progress monitoring systems
- Monitor suppliers Rate of Progress to ensure that this is consistent with the project plan
- Draw up action plans for the recovery of slippage and implement these with suppliers
- Assist with the analysis of supplier claims to ensure that these are appropriately responded to
- Close-out planning functions for each project and ensure of data is correctly administered for the project
- Review and understand all relevant project documents and conditions
- Establish and define project control procedures and identify the level of resources required to operate them
- Develop in conjunction with the Project Manager and Client, a suitable work breakdown structure for the project
- Establish and communicate cost and schedule baselines and ensure control mechanisms are in place to monitor performance
- Review overall project status with the Project Control Team and recommend corrective action where necessary
- Ensure that all cost, planning and document control reports are prepared in accordance with the Project Control Manual
- Other planning management duties as assigned by the Planning Manager / Project Director / Senior Project Manager
Skills
- A minimum of (12) years` experience in planning of construction projects, of which Seven (7) years` experience is in planning and programming High Quality projects using industry standard programming software such as Primavera P6.
- Preferably a Chartered Engineer or PE, although this is not essential if a track record of planning successful High Quality phased projects which have been open to the public during the works can be clearly demonstrated, including analyzing, constructing Schedules and Cost using Primavera Enterprises and Primavera Contract Management software
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- UPDA Certified preferable.
- PSP Certified, MBA is an advantage
