Job summary

QFAB – Qatar Fabrication Company in Ras Laffan, Qatar, is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator for offshore oil and gas projects. You will review tender packages, build detailed estimates, and coordinate inputs from multiple engineering and procurement teams to support multimillion dollar bids.

The role requires 5+ years in offshore construction, reading engineering drawings, and strong command of MS Office.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Structural Engineering or equivalent.
5+ years in offshore construction involving jackets, topsides, bridges.
Ability to read Engineering Drawings.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Proficient with MS Office and related software; able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Review bid tender package to understand scope, specs and schedule; raise clarifications as needed.
Understand contract price form; clarify unit rate and lump sum breakdown.
Prepare cost estimates in accordance with scope using standard rates, historical data or first principles.
Coordinate inputs from Operations, Production, Shop, Planning, QA/QC, Procurement.
Conduct RFQ processes for in-house and subcontractor scopes and evaluate bids.
