Job description

We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Global Services Energy Doha, Qatar for a Senior Electrical Engineer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to and assisting the team lead in developing and maintaining an incident-free environment through a strong safety culture.
  • Ensuring compliance with HSE legislation, company standards, and procedures for safety and plant integrity.
  • Conducting asset selection and strategy definition.
  • Identifying critical electrical and HVAC assets for assessment.
  • Defining maintenance strategies (proactive/reactive).
  • Gathering design, operational, and maintenance data.
  • Determining the Designed End of Service Life (DEOSL) and verifying the actual End of Service Life (VEOSL).
  • Performing asset integrity assessments.
  • Conducting data gap analysis and integrity risk reviews.
  • Setting up integrity databases and digital dashboards.
  • Defining execution timelines and contracting strategies.
  • Coordinating with third-party engineering firms for detailed studies.
  • Executing and reporting on asset integrity assessments and life extension studies.
  • Performing condition assessments, failure mode analysis, and life prediction modeling.
  • Reviewing and validating third-party reports and recommendations.
  • Preparing technical reports and presentations for senior management.
  • Supporting CAPEX/OPEX planning based on findings.
  • Visiting offshore sites to ensure successful delivery of job scopes and enhance collaboration.
  • Performing any other ad-hoc tasks as directed by the line manager.

Qualifications:

  • Graduated with a minimum of Higher Secondary School Education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, including at least 5 years offshore with on-field equipment in oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills, proficient in Microsoft Office.

Profile

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 10-15 years of experience in oil & gas operations, with at least 5 years in asset integrity or reliability engineering.
  • Experience working in a multicultural and highly technical environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IEC 60079, IEC 61892, IEEE 3000 series, API 500 / 505, API RP 580 / 581 standards.
  • Knowledge of HVAC standards (ASHRAE, ISO 16813, NFPA 90A).
  • Experience with electrical distribution systems (LV / MV / HV), UPS, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, HVAC chillers, AHUs.
  • Experience with CMMS (SAP PM), Power BI dashboards, and integrity management tools.
