About the opportunity

Job purpose :

• Ensures continuity of engineering to site.
• Is in charge of technical interfaces with the sub-contractors.
• Is In charge of resolving first level problems at site.
• Performs simple calculations and draws sketches for any modification work at site.

Reporting lines and interactions

• Hierarchically reports to : HOD, Electrical.
• Operationally reports to : Manager –HOD, Electrical Manager.
• Key interactions (internally, externally) : Discipline Manager and vendors.

Main Accountabilities

• Site survey on shore / offshore for data retrieval
• Design of main SLD and auxiliary distribution schemes
• Protection & relay co-ordination
• Load calculations
• Power system study ETAP
• Earthing calculations
• Cable sizing calculation
• AC & DC UPS, DG set sizing calculations
• Equipment sizing & selection
• Familiar with Hazardous area classifications & layout
• Preparation of material requisitions for electrical equipment such as medium voltage / low voltage switchgears, transformers, cables, DC / AC UPS equipment etc.
• Preparation of technical specifications of electrical equipment such as generator, transformer, medium voltage / low voltage switchgears, cables, lighting packages etc.
• Technical bid evaluation
• Vendor interaction & discussion with clients
• Cable schedule, cable interconnection / termination and cable routing
• Electrical layouts and materials list
• Lighting calculations and layouts
• Lightning protection design
• Layouts for electrical rooms
• Vendor drawings review
• Preparation of distribution board / panelboard schedules
• Field engineering support
• Familiar with International standards
