Job summary

Job description
Operational Responsibilities
  1. Participate in the drainage design and planning activities for all PWA governed projects in coordination with the Drainage Networks Design Section Head, Engineering Designs Advisor / Expert and the Engineering Works Department.
  2. Work closely with the drainage investment team and the relevant stakeholders in the identification of drainage designs/ plans /models for approval.
  3. Coordinate with the relevant design team (including Design Consultants) and the project delivery team for the details of the drainage designs.
  4. Participate in the review of the drainage design project plans and ensure alignment with the drainage master plan. Obtain clarifications from the Engineering Designs Advisor / Expert and other Design Engineers on any issues identified. Identify the relevant approval requirements in accordance with the Delegated Level of Authority.
  5. Ensure that relevant drainage project designs/ plans/ models/ and the corresponding drainage drawings and specifications are in place and understood by the project delivery team.
  6. Lead the coordination with other business units and/or government ministries, if required, for the approval of the drainage projects designs specifications.
  7. Participate in evaluating, selecting and appointing drainage design consultants for all drainage related programs/ projects in coordination with the Drainage Plan Team.
  8. Participate in the review of design related risks and coordinate with the relevant Engineering Designs Advisors / Experts within the Department and Design Engineers for establishing appropriate controls to mitigate the risks as and when required.
  9. As and when required, attend progress meetings with third parties and other design professionals, to assess progress of designs/ construction.
  10. Assist the Drainage Networks Design Section Head and Engineering Designs Advisor / Expert on routine Design Planning responsibilities.
  11. Work closely with the Drainage Networks Design Section Head and the Engineering Designs Advisor / Expert to ensure compliance with PWA Design Policies, Processes and Procedures.
  12. Keep the Drainage Networks Design Section Head and the Engineering Designs Advisor / Expert informed of significant design issues that may jeopardize the achievement of PWA’s goals.
  13. Keep current with latest market trends and developments, and stay abreast with current trends and leading practices in design/ approaches/ tools focused in planning of drainage assets.
Education & Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Up to 11 years of cumulative experience in a relevant field (Master’s degree).
  • Up to 12 years of cumulative experience in a relevant field (Bachelor’s degree).
