This Government hospital group are the main provider of secondary and tertiary healthcare in Qatar and one of the leading hospital providers in the Middle East. They manage 10 hospitals – seven specialist hospitals and three community hospitals – as well as the National Ambulance Service and home and residential care services.

Qualifications required

If you wish to apply for this position, you will require the following to qualify as a Senior consultant with this institution, and as per the licensing authorities:

  • 6 years Consultant experience in a 'Western' standard hospital
  • 6 years post specialist qualification experience from the following countries:
  • UK – CCT
  • USA – American Board
  • Canada – Canadian Fellowship
  • Ireland – CSD/CSCST
  • Australia & New Zealand (Fellowship)
  • France – DES/DESC
  • Other European countries according to the qualification equivalence tables of the licensing authorities.
Benefits included
  • Salary: To be advised
  • Gratuity: 1 Month's basic salary per annum
  • Contract Duration: 3 years renewable
  • Contract Status: Married (if required) Self, spouse & 3 children (to 18 yrs)
  • Accommodation: Provided or allowance of QR8000 per month for married
  • Utilities Allowance: Up to QR 600 pm if taking assigned accommodation
  • Baggage allowance: 50 kg per person of unaccompanied baggage
  • Flights: Business Class for family
  • Leave: 50 days a year + local holidays – can be split
  • Ed Allowance: For up to 3 children to age 18 (to QR 21,000 per child pa)
  • Study leave: Max 9 days after 18 months service. Flight costs & fees paid
  • Medical Cover: Company scheme at nominal fees for employee & dependents
  • Increments: Annual Increments based on performance appraisal.
  • Transport: QR 1000 approx per month allowance
  • Hours of Work: Approx 7.00am – 3.00pm Sunday to Thursday
  • On call: As required within speciality
  • Start Date: As soon as possible by agreement
