Job summary

A leading construction firm in Doha, Qatar is seeking a Chief Accountant to oversee financial operations and compliance. The ideal candidate will have 7–12 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in the construction industry. Responsibilities include managing accounting processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading the accounting team. Strong knowledge of IFRS, and proficiency in ERP systems are key for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of accounting experience, at least 5 years in the construction industry within the GCC.
• Strong experience with project accounting and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, GL, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations, and treasury functions.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and local GCC accounting regulations.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Manage project cost control and expenses.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team.
