Job summary

Mashreq in Qatar seeks a Compliance Manager to support the CCO & MLRO in day-to-day Qatar Compliance operations, ensuring AML/KYC and regulatory alignment with QCB. You will build relationships with QCB and coordinate with branches to maintain compliant processes.

You will oversee policy updates, provide training to staff, escalate high‑risk issues, and lead investigations as needed, promoting a culture of proactive compliance across all Qatar branches.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years banking experience with good understanding of US and Qatar markets.
• Professional qualification in business / commerce / economics / law.
• CAMS or equivalent compliance certification.
• Sound knowledge of international banking practice and products/services.
• Specific and/or transferable knowledge/experience related to compliance/AML/Sanctions/Central Bank regulations.
• Computer literate with strong written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support CCO & MLRO in day-to-day Qatar Compliance operations and AML/KYC policy adherence.
• Maintain relations with QCB and regulatory authorities; coordinate with branches as needed.
• Ensure internal procedures/policies remain compliant with regulations; provide guidance to Branch Management.
• Escalate high-risk issues to CCO/MLRO and IBG-Compliance with action plans for closure.
• Develop and maintain the local Compliance/AML Manual and distribute to branch staff.
• Provide AML/Compliance training to Qatar staff on an ongoing basis.
• Promote a strong compliance culture in Qatar branches.
• Monitor Product Programs and SOPs for QCB and Mashreq AML/KYC policy compliance; monitor transactions.
• Analyze suspicious transactions and assist MLRO with STR submissions to QCB.
• Respond to regulatory inquiries and provide guidance to branches/units.
• Liaise with IBG-Compliance for policy rollout across Qatar.
