Position: Product/Project Manager (Media and News Industry)

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of digital and cross-functional projects in the media and news domain.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external vendors or partners.
  • Manage timelines, budgets, resources, risks, and quality to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Product strategy & roadmap: Define product vision, outcomes and quarterly roadmaps for news apps/web/CMS; align with editorial priorities and goals (ads/subscriptions) to drive audience growth.
  • Discovery to delivery: Lead backlog prioritization and releases with Engineering; then iterate to improve activation, engagement, and retention.
  • Collaborate with editorial, content, product, technology, design, and business teams to align goals and deliverables.
  • Apply project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or Hybrid) appropriately based on project needs.
  • Lead project meetings, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and stakeholder updates.
  • Drive process improvements, standardization, and project governance in collaboration with the PMO team.
  • Track KPIs and project health using appropriate tools (Jira, Confluence, Clockify, etc.).
Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in the media, publishing, OTT or news sector.
  • Strong understanding of digital media platforms, CMS systems, video and publishing workflows, and newsroom operations.
  • Proven experience in managing digital transformation, platform migration, or audience-facing product launches.
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Experience working in multicultural or cross-functional teams.
  • PMP or Agile certifications are a plus.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management capabilities.
  • Data‑driven mindset with understanding of analytics and performance reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic are mandatory.
  • SEO fundamentals & tools: Strong knowledge of crawlability, indexing, structured data, Core Web Vitals, mobile‑first; fluent with GSC, Ahrefs, SEMrush; monitor core algorithm updates.
  • Project delivery & technical SEO: Lead migrations/CMS launches/redesigns; enforce technical SEO best practices across sites, apps, and video; protect organic traffic during changes.
  • Cross‑functional alignment: Coordinate SEO specialists, editorial, product, tech, and UX to maintain metadata, tagging, and structured content aligned to organic growth goals.
  • SEO KPIs & reporting: Define and track SEO metrics (organic traffic, impressions, bounce rate, etc.) and use results to guide decisions and course correct.
