The successful candidate will develop and execute the group's PR strategy, lead media relations, oversee press materials, advise senior leadership, and manage a high-performing team and budgets.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in public relations, corporate communications, or media relations leadership roles.
• Proven track record managing corporate reputation, media engagement, and executive communications in large organizations.
• Experience leading crisis communications and issues management in diversified groups or government-linked entities.

Job Description

• Develop and execute the group's corporate communications and public relations strategy.
• Lead all media relations activities, including press engagement, interviews, and corporate announcements.
• Oversee the preparation and approval of press releases, official statements, executive communications, and public messaging.
• Act as a trusted adviser to senior leadership on reputation management and stakeholder communications.
• Develop executive visibility programmes, speeches, thought leadership content, and spokesperson preparation.
• Lead crisis communication planning, issues management, and reputational risk mitigation initiatives.
• Establish communications governance, editorial standards, and messaging frameworks across the organization.
• Monitor media coverage, market perception, and emerging reputational risks, providing actionable insights to leadership.
• Partner with business units and functional leaders to ensure consistent communication and stakeholder alignment.
• Lead, develop, and manage a high-performing communications team, agency partners, and budgets.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, Marketing, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in public relations, corporate communications, corporate affairs, or media relations leadership roles.
• Proven track record managing corporate reputation, media engagement, and executive communications within large and complex organizations.
• Extensive experience drafting and overseeing press releases, official statements, leadership messaging, and sensitive external communications.
• Strong understanding of media operations, newsroom environments, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
• Demonstrated experience handling crisis communications, issues management, and high-profile reputational matters.
• Experience operating within diversified groups, large corporates, government-linked entities, or similarly complex environments is highly desirable.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior executives and external stakeholders.
