Job summary

Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Qatar is seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to assess and diagnose patients, plan and progress rehabilitation, and manage a diverse caseload independently. Qualifications

• Minimum 6–8 years of experience with 2–3 years in a similar role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage orthopaedic and sports physio caseloads independently.
• Sports physiotherapy background is required.
• Bachelor's degree in physiotherapy; licensing to practice.
• Master's degree in Sport Physiotherapy is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess, analyse and provide clinical diagnosis for physiotherapy need.

• Independently manage a caseload of athletes and non-athletes.

Job description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES:

Duties:

• Act independently to assess, analyse and provide a clinical diagnosis for individual patients to determine their need for physiotherapy intervention.
• Act independently to plan, implement, evaluate, treat and progress patient care to maximise rehabilitation potential.
• Advance treatment progression of patients independently. Independently manage a caseload of athletes and non-athletes effectively and efficiently.
• Contribute to evidence-based practice in the department skilfully and provide significant input into development of assessment and treatment protocols.
• Take decisions regarding discharge planning of patients independently or with Senior Physiotherapist as deemed appropriate.
• Assist Senior Physiotherapist with staff continuing education. Provide in-service briefing following the attendance at a course or conference.
• Assist with in-service training of Physiotherapy staff. Demonstrates active participation at staff professional development activities (case reviews, workshops, courses and in-services).
• Utilization of research skills and participation in research projects at a basic level.
• Maintain a proficient standard of ethical and professional behaviour when treating and dealing with athletes / patients.
• Participate in the departmental personal development and performance review system to promote personal and service developments.
• Participate in clinical audit to support the physiotherapy service clinical governance strategy.
• Liaise with Lead Clinical and Senior Physiotherapists to gain support and direction in management of their caseload.
• Work as part of a team to ensure effective communication and delivery of care. Communicate and make recommendations to all relevant disciplines of staff to maximise patient care and promote multidisciplinary team working.
• Maintain patient documentation, records and accurate statistical information to reflect care provided and meet professional standards. Independent charting using Cerner
• Assume or accept any other responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor within the position role and responsibility.
• Patient Safety-Attend and successfully complete competencies which focus on patient safety initiatives implemented within Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital. Patient Safety Training is an annual requirement, to include all organizational leaders, staff, service, and contracted providers.

Necessary knowledge and Experience to be able to do the job:

• Minimum experience of 6-8 years in which 2-3 years should be in a similar position / responsibility, preferably in a similar Industry.
• Demonstrated experience and ability to manage orthopaedic and sports physiotherapy caseloads independently and proficiently.
• Sports physiotherapy background is required

Education and Certification requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy or equivalent.
• Master’s degree in Sport Physiotherapy is desired.
• Professional certifications in the field of work are a plus.
• Fulfil all the licensing requirements.
