About the Role
The Mobile Designer owns end-to-end user experience of large-scale, government-grade mobile applications used by citizens and residents across Qatar. You will turn business and user needs into intuitive, accessible and bilingual (Arabic/English) mobile experiences on iOS and Android.
You will work inside agile delivery teams, from discovery and research through wireframes, high-fidelity UI and interactive prototypes, to developer hand-off and design QA. The role also contributes to a shared design system so that many services and mini-apps feel like one consistent product
Responsibilities
- Plan and run user research: interviews, surveys, usability tests and competitor reviews.
- Translate findings into personas, user journeys and clear problem statements.
- Work with Product Owners and Business Analysts to refine requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Produce user flows, information architecture, wireframes and high-fidelity mobile UI.
- Build interactive prototypes to test and present ideas to stakeholders.
- Design for both iOS (Human Interface Guidelines) and Android (Material Design) conventions.
- Deliver full bilingual designs, including right-to-left (RTL) Arabic layouts and typography.
- Design micro-interactions, motion, empty states, error states and edge cases.
- Create and maintain reusable components, tokens and patterns in the shared design system.
- Apply brand and visual identity guidelines consistently across services and mini-apps.
- Document usage rules so other designers and developers can apply them correctly.
- Ensure designs meet WCAG 2.1 AA and national digital accessibility standards.
- Review built screens against designs (design QA) and log defects before release.
- Use analytics and user feedback to improve live features after launch.
- Take part in agile ceremonies: refinement, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
- Prepare developer-ready hand-off: specs, assets, redlines and annotated flows.
- Present design decisions clearly to technical teams, clients and senior stakeholders.
- Keep design work aligned with the sprint plan, Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
