A leading aerospace firm in Qatar is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician and Supervisor for Typhoon aircraft maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aeronautical engineering, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience at Technician level and excellent supervisory skills. This role involves ensuring compliance with aviation standards while leading a dynamic maintenance team. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.
The post holder will be an experienced and skilled mechanical technician and supervisor undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities on the Typhoon aircraft or aircraft components. The post holder requires an excellent understanding of the approved technical data set and is competent to supervise personnel carrying out maintenance instructions in accordance with the organisation’s regulatory framework.
Demonstrates a distinct ability to analyze and diagnose faults to aircraft systems, equipment and assemblies, follow diagnostic procedures and work effectively within a team. Provide guidance to less experienced team members in a diverse and dynamic operational environment.
Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspection and supervision activities on the Typhoon and its components. Assuring work carried out has been completed in accordance with the work package using the relevant approved technical information. Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including configuration management.
Undertaking and complete tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on the Typhoon aircraft or components which may include, as appropriate, aircraft ground handling, flight servicing, aircraft role changes, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system test.
Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and takes direction appropriately.
Maintain personal task authorizations for working on aircraft or components.
Ensuring that maintenance is undertaken to schedule and resolve any issues, escalating as required.
Undertaking fault evaluation and raising ad hoc work cards for ‘found faults’ during maintenance.
Supervising the team to ensure that maintenance is undertaken to schedule and highlight any issues, escalating as required. Report on any impact to the wider program.
Ensuring that staff are sufficiently competent and approved for the maintenance tasks allocated to them.
Undertaking support tasks within the Aircraft or component maintenance facility which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and Functionally Mandated Procedures (FMP’s) (e.g. oversight checks, control of tooling / test equipment etc.).
Provide guidance and leadership to the team. Develops team members using formal assessment processes, e.g. PDR’s, supports and sponsors training requests including ‘on the job training’. Demonstrates sound and comprehensive communication and people management skills in order to exchange complicated information.
Ability to scope and carry out independent and vital inspections.
Maintaining a personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, on completion of On the Job training (OJT) activities, sign other personnel’s logbooks as appropriate within your trade and skills boundaries. If you are an approved designated assessor, undertake authorisation and task competency approvals, and check Pt 145 license application packs prior to submission.
