The successful applicant will be responsible for providing maintenance and repair services on a wide range of vehicles, including cars, vans, trucks and buses. You must have extensive knowledge of the mechanical systems and components of the various models and makes of vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a technical background in automotive engineering or mechanics, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role. A valid Driver's license is essential, as is proficiency with the use of diagnostic tools. In addition, you must be able to work independently and complete assignments within allocated timeframes. The primary duties include carrying out routine maintenance services such as oil changes, filter replacements and brake repairs; diagnosing faults on vehicles using specialist equipment; repairing or replacing parts as necessary; ensuring that safety standards are met at all times; preparing clear written reports outlining work completed; liaising with suppliers to order spare parts; and providing assistance to other mechanics when required.
