Overview

Radiator Service Technician: Repair cooling systems and gas storage tanks in vehicles, buses, trucks, and other automotive equipment.

Responsibilities

• Pumps water or compressed air through radiators to check for blockages or leaks.
• Purges radiators with cleaning substances to remove obstructions, such as corrosion or mineral deposits.
• Removes radiator cores from vehicles and cleans them using rods or boiling water with solvent, or a combination of boil-out and rod-out.
• Solders leaks in cores or containers using a welding torch or acetylene lantern.
• Repairs radiators of all kinds and sizes, including aluminum and plastic.
• Repairs, removes, and/or replaces radiators, heaters, and all kinds of heater cores.
• Operates and cleans radiator cleaning containers using caustic chemicals.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Experience: Radiator auto mechanic — 5 years (Required).
