Job summary

Milaha in Mesaieed, Qatar seeks a Marine Electrician to maintain electrical systems aboard ships and in marine operations. You will coordinate with foremen and coworkers to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery of tasks in a demanding shipyard environment.

Ideal candidates have 4–6 years in electrical trades, shipyard experience preferred, and a strong focus on HSSE standards. High School/ITI in electrical trade is required; role is full-time with on-site duties in Mesaieed.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years’ experience in a similar trade.
• Heavy industry experience in electrical equipment is a must.
• Shipyard experience will be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant electrical machinery and marine works
• Trouble shoot and repair electrical equipments
• Check and repair engine alarm and monitoring system
• Generator synchronization and load sharing and interlock system
• Repair generator, Navigation lights, steering control, bow thruster, etc.
• Inspect and test main switch board
• Operate stress reliving machine, prepare reports and measure hardness
• Ensure all necessary information is available to carry out the assigned duties
• Report all reworks to Quality Department
• Report to Assistant Foreman – Electrical any deviation from schedule and report in advance any risks and issues expected, repetitive unsolved problems, misconduct of team members or unsafe acts
• Follow Assistant Foreman – Electrical instructions with regard to work execution and objectives implementation, however, do not bypass safety and quality and report to management and QHSE
• Coordinate and cooperate with other sections personnel to accomplish on time the activities and report bottlenecks for support
• Advise and recommend procedures improvement and materials/equipment purchase to save hours and maintain high safety and quality standards
• Attend daily production toolbox meetings strictly on time and ensure projected goals are met and all issues are addressed
• Act towards continuous self development and improvement and facility
• Responsible daily for housekeeping at work location
• Responsible to maintain tools and equipment in good condition
• Use complete PPE including helmet, coverall, gloves, googles, ear plugs and any specific protective equipment
• Ensure all works are carried out safely and to high quality per HSSE/Quality procedures
• Report to line manager if no assignment or work issued daily
• Perform all job functions in line with MILAHA’s Mission and Vision Core values
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
