Job Title: Loom Fitter

Job Summary

The Loom Fitter is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing weaving looms used in the production of polypropylene (PP) woven fabrics for bags and FIBC products. The role ensures smooth, safe, and uninterrupted operations of the loom production lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, assemble, and align looms and related equipment in the weaving section.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on looms, including warp / we systems, heddles, reed, shuttleless / rapier mechanisms, and auxiliary devices.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components to minimize production downtime.
  • Conduct routine inspections of looms to identify and resolve potential mechanical issues.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure looms operate efficiently and produce high-quality fabric.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and report significant repairs or spare parts requirements to supervisors.
  • Assist in the setup and installation of new looms or weaving machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote safe working practices in the plant.
  • Support training of junior fitters or helpers when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Loom Fitter, Mechanical Technician, or similar role in PP woven bag or FIBC manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of loom mechanics, including shuttleless and rapier systems.
  • Experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in high-speed weaving looms for PP woven fabrics.
  • Knowledge of fabric quality standards and loom performance parameters.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and quality control in industrial weaving operations.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift heavy machine parts and work in standing, bending, or confined positions.
  • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery noise and vibration.
