Logistics Coordinator - Marine/Dredging Projects

Location: Qatar Onshore (Doha initially, then Ras Laffan Project Site Offices)

Contract Duration: 36 Months (with possibility of extension)

Work Schedule: 10 hours/day, 5 days/week (22 days/month)

Estimated Start Date: January 2026

We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator to manage and coordinate all logistics operations for a major offshore/marine project, primarily focusing on port dredging and reclamation works.

Job Purpose
  • Coordinate logistics operations in conjunction with EPC contractor logistics teams and port authorities.
  • Manage initial stage activities related to RLIC port dredging works.
Reporting & Relationships
  • Reports to Project Manager (Dredging).
  • Direct reports: None.
  • Frequent internal contact with project teams, PMT, RLIC, and Operations Engineering.
  • Frequent external contact with EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and specialist consultants.
Job Context & Major Challenges
  • Manage vessel manifests, customs documentation, dangerous goods declarations, and shipping schedules.
  • Liaise with port and customs authorities for vessel clearances and scheduling.
  • Audit and monitor contractor logistics plans to ensure compliance with company procedures and port regulations.
  • Coordinate logistics interfaces among construction, supply chain, port authority, engineering, and offshore execution teams.
  • Contingency planning to adapt to vessel delays, customs hold‑ups, port congestion, and adverse weather conditions.
  • Align delivery schedules with supply, material control, and contract teams.
  • Verify contractor submissions against dredging plans and site data.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop logistics plans covering transport, customs, warehousing, and site delivery schedules.
  2. Liaise with marine/freight forwarders, customs agents, and suppliers to coordinate shipments.
  3. Manage customs clearance, import/export documentation, bond procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  4. Support procurement and construction teams by tracking material delivery status and resolving delays.
  5. Monitor and audit contractor logistics implementation plans, including unloading, transportation, and material handling systems.
  6. Optimize warehousing, inventory, storage, and site lay‑down areas.
  7. Coordinate personnel logistics for staff mobilization and demobilization.
  8. Monitor logistics KPIs, control costs, and prepare periodic reports and forecasts.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in a business/logistics function, including 4 years in Oil & Gas.
  • Experience with Oil & Gas companies, EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, or service providers.
  • Familiarity with international shipping, customs regulations, bonded storage, and Middle East procedures.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
Technical and Business Skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Strong leadership skills and personal integrity, with experience guiding and assisting contractor teams.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, coordination, and planning skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact at all levels.
