Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a library setting.
• Knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress classification.
• Familiarity with online databases for research purposes.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage the library's collection by cataloging, shelving, and maintaining accurate records of all materials.
• Assist patrons with research and reference inquiries by providing guidance on how to use library resources effectively.
• Create engaging displays and programs to promote library resources and services.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations to collaborate on programming opportunities.
• Plan and lead educational workshops for students on information literacy skills.
• Stay up-to-date on current trends in library science and incorporate new technologies into the library's operations.
• Train and supervise volunteers or part-time staff as needed.
• Oversee the maintenance of a clean, organized, and welcoming library environment.
